The Lake George Community Band has over 65 members ranging in age from 12 to 65+. Some are playing in a band for the first time, others are returning from years of not playing, and some of us are even professional musicians and music educators! Our concert season begins in September of each year. We perform concerts during the fall and winter at Lake George High School and/or the Glens Falls Jr./Sr. High School. Please see our performance schedule for locations, dates and time. During the summer we perform approximately six concerts in the Shepard Park band stand in Lake George.
There are no fees or dues required. Just bring your talent, your desire and your commitment. There is a very short audition for the director to determine appropriate seating at your performance level. We begin our Fall 2018 rehearsal schedule on Thursday September 6. Rehearsals are Thursday nights from 7:00pm to 9:15pm in the Lake George High School Band Room. Feel free to attend a rehearsal. Please enter the school at the rear bus entrance doors. We are looking for new members and encourage anyone who plays a band wind or percussion instrument to come and join us. In particular, we would like to fill or add to the following instrument sections: Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone and Percussion.
So pick up that instrument, dust it off and come join us. If you are interested and can commit to the organization, please email our Music Director and Conductor, Mr. Michael Craner at info@lgcb.org. You are also more than welcome to stop in at a rehearsal and check us out.
